Video and Take Action: We Will Not Be Silenced: Defending Palestine, Academic Freedom and Anti-Colonial Pedagogy: A Community Teach-In

On Tuesday, 28 September, the US Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel hosted a webinar, “We Will Not Be Silenced: Defending Palestine, Academic Freedom and Anti-Colonial Pedagogy: A Community Teach-In.”

The event featured a conversation with Prof. Rabab Abdulhadi, Prof. Tomomi Kinukawa and Omar Zahzah on two grievances filed against San Francisco State University over the university’s consistent undermining of the AMED studies program, its sabotaging of the incorporation of Palestine into critical ethnic studies, its consistent flouting of academic freedom, its privileging of Zionist Jewish voices, feelings and perspectives over the lived experiences and struggles of anti-Zionist Jewish students and activists as well as Arab, Muslim and/or Palestinian students. The respondents, who emphasized the importance of supporting the AMED studies program, were Alexei Folger, Cynthia Franklin, Charlotte Kates and Bill Mullen.
