The airport in Athens witnessed protestors blocking the ticket counters of the Israeli airline in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
A flight on its way to Israel was prevented from taking off, Wednesday, due to a group of motivated protestors seeking to draw attention to the horrid conditions of the Palestinians living in Gaza.
The protestors were members of a communist labor union and managed to block five ticket counters of the airline for two hours. The police were present but didn”t intervene.
“This was an action taken in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their effort to establish a Palestinian state,” union spokesman Giorgos Pontikos.
There was no physical violence reported.
