The artists’ union suggested the establishment of a national boycott committee in Nablus and stricter punishment for merchants and traders who do not abide by the Palestinian Authority’s (PA) decision to ban Israeli settlement goods from the Palestinian market.
The unionists further appealed to the prime minister to intervene and decrease the price of goods in markets which have been marked-up by Palestinian traders as people find basic necessities, including gas, unaffordable.
The union said that the Palestinian Authority (PA) was taking a bold step by calling for the boycott, for the sake of Palestinian national interests.
