“Drop the Droid”: Our Spoof of Motorola Droid commercial is just like the real one, only….more real
Remember the totally surreal commercial for Motorola’s new ‘Droid’ phone that we posted about a little while ago? You know, the one showing Stealth bombers rocketing unsuspecting motorists, farmers, and fisherman with new phone technology, just like actual Motorola bomb components and communication technology was used to bomb the Gaza Strip during Israel’s “Operation Cast Lead”?
Well, now we have our very own version of Moto’s new ad campaign, courtesy of documentary filmmaker and human rights activist Adam Shapiro. Our version is just like the real commercial, only a bit more…real:
Despite Motorola’s complicity in Israeli violations of international law and human rights, the U.S. Department of Energy is set to award Motorola Israel a $900,000 contract to develop an energy grid management system–because nothing says energy efficiency like bombing civilians. Click here to let the Department of Energy know the truth about Motorola–and click here to tell Motorola that you’re not buying their human rights violations.
Or their phones.
